How to care for your wedding veil before your wedding
Storing your wedding veil before your wedding is as important as storing it afterward. Our veils arrive in a box, but the care doesn't stop there. We recommend sending your veil to a dry cleaner if possible, but only after your hair style and dress trial with your ensemble put together.
Alternatively, you can steam it. However, since settings on at-home steamers vary widely, we recommend choosing a qualified cleaner if that is within your budget. Ask the cleaner to pin the veil to a padded hanger or place it into a garment bag for you if possible.
It's best to keep your veil in a cool, dark room as high temperatures, excessive light, and humidity can alter both the texture and the fabric color. Store your veil in a place as high as you can hang it to keep wrinkles away, either in the bag or out.
Sometimes even taking every precaution can result in some minor wrinkles on the day of the wedding. If there are small creases in the veil, fear not! You can gently steam on the lowest setting (but be super careful not to iron or burn!) just on the areas of minor wrinkles. Sometimes even hanging the veil up in a bathroom while showering can make a difference for small crinkles and creases.
Our last piece of advice: Wait to put the veil on until the last minute especially if you are driving in a car or riding in a horse-drawn carriage ;) By not sitting on the veil, you avoid the possibility of wrinkles when you walk down the aisle or take pre-wedding photos.
Ultimately, wedding veils are delicate but also built to be worn. So please don’t worry too much about tiny things that likely not many people will notice.
